I sure hope Doug will be back on some LA Radio station in the near future.
KABC seems bent on sinking their own ship, for some strange reason. I rarely listen to anything on KABC anymore, as they continue to make the station more inane. I miss you Doug, especially your wit, and your intelligent conversations!

Doug
I miss you, my mornings are so dreary now! I haven’t listened to KABC
since you left and would never listen to Peter I only tolerated him when
he was working with Ken because I liked Ken. What’s a girl to do?
Why don’t you try to get a gig at 980 they seem to be switching things up a bit with their format.

Doug:
It’s tough to even give a try to your replacement. I hope that you get back on L.A. radio soon!
Comment by Neva Bryan on October 31, 2009 at 12:14 pm
I hope the kid gets makes it at Chapman. According to statistics, almost 60% of the students who get accepted to a four year college drop out before they get their degree. I’d hate to see that cute little kitty have to change its name to Los Angeles Valley College.

Doug, miss you on the radio. Hope you come back soon. Cathy

You are dead-on! Teachers are NOT parents, nor should we be parents. Nobody is responsible for anything any more. Today you just have to find someone to blame and you will not be held responsible for anything you do or say. Right or wrong does not matter. Unless, of course if you happen to be a CONSERVATIVE!

Hey Doug, It’s not the same in L.A. without out you. I would never have known about Eva Cassidy if it weren’t for you. Please if anyone from KABC is reading this……bring back our Dougie…..we all miss him so much. If radio wants our support to stay tax free then give us something good on the air.

Doug, you made me smile every morning on my way to work. Where’s your sidekick Rob? Did you really vote for Nobama Doug??? Hope you hear you back on LA radio again, take care.
Comment by Theresa Reyes on November 3, 2009 at 5:57 pm
I tried listening once since the change. Peter-what’s-his-name is a bore.
Bring back McIntyre!

Doug it’s just not the same getting up in the morning without you. Hope you find a new radio home here in L.A. soon!
Comment by Bobbi Clinton on November 4, 2009 at 9:07 am
Dear Doug:
Mornings without you are pure hell! Depressed doesn’t even begin to tell you how I feel. What is KABC thinking? Leon & I had a bitch fest over your show being off the air.
My best to Penny. Please come back.
Warmly,
Bobbi Clinton

Doug,I need you back on the radio ASAP-I have no idea what to think anymore. My sheepish brain needs you back!
Comment by Howard Garrett on November 6, 2009 at 7:08 pm
Keep us informed on where you will be broadcasting. KABC has hit rock bottom and is trying to go lower!!! Damn but they screwed up a great talk radio station.
Comment by Bob on November 6, 2009 at 9:51 pm
I have yet been able to listen to more than two minutes of your replacement. The dial was pegged on KABC when you were there. It’s sad sad.
Comment by Randy on November 10, 2009 at 6:48 am
NO McIntyre in the morning, NO KABC. That station is unlistenable now. We need you back on the radio. Please come back soon. My mornings are not the same.

The Heidi, Frosti & Frank Show replaces passionate, intelligent, witty commentary with inane blather. What? Did you ask for enough money to keep your kid in college?

Doug, I still can’t believe KABC made the moves they did. When Larry left, I thought for sure he would turn up locally, then Al left, and I’m not buying the retirement story, but all was well, you were on in the morning, and that’s all that mattered, your show was funniy, informing, you always had good guests, and when you didn’t agree with one, you gave them hell, just like you gave city hall hell for screwing over the tax payers.
I’m praying you get another morning drive show locally, we need you to keep us informed.
God bless you and your family.

P.S. your new kitten, is he a lilac point siamese?

Having listened to you since the 2000 elections on KABC, I came to rely on your commentary and wit. Since you left, I changed my radio habits and listen to anything but KABC.
Comment by Burbank Brett on November 15, 2009 at 4:15 am
Really Doug we sure would like a pod cast if you can find time maybe hookup with Marc Germain .Know it does not pay bills but It’s good practice and could feed the hunger of your listeners .Like most on this list I really miss the Al Marc and Doug line up with Rob M. on news.

The only one worth listening to on KABC is John Phillips and they’ve put YET ANOTHER money show into his first half hour.
WE WANT DOUG BACK!!!
Comment by Margaret E. on November 18, 2009 at 2:58 pm
Doug, I am thrilled that you are on our NY radio. Sorry, I had not heard of you before but I absolutely love your commentary in the 5-6AM broadcast.
I love the timbre of your voice, your comments and the fact that your grandmother was Irish. I’m Irish also and lucky to be an American citizen. I will never forget my Irishness but God Bless America. Thank you for the research you must do to give us, your listerners, such informative segments of info. each morning. Stay awhile. ME.

I started with you on the Bush/Gore election night, listened to redeye radio and later on my drive home. KABC sucks lately. Your leaving was the last straw for me also. I even ate at IHOP in El Segundo when you were there. Oh, the memories.

Doug, If KABC does not wise up, PLEASE come to Colorado, we need you. My husband recently retired, we moved here last year and do not care what is said about California I still love it and want to go back. But while I am here it would be nice to have you to listen to. I still get Dennis Miller & Dennis Prager thank God, but the whole AM radio could use you for sure. I am sorry you lost your job I understand, Hang in there.

LA radio needs you back. Please. Sorry to tell you that we’re left with gasbag radio. What was KABC thinking? With all due respect to other unnamed personalities, your replacement is a bore and your former sports guy just doesn’t have anything interesting to say. And the ones inbetween are not worth turning on the radio for. Come back! We need your take on the local scene.
Comment by Rae Cohen on November 24, 2009 at 11:07 am
Doug, Been with you since Day One of Red-Eye Radio. That KABC, nothing good left on the station anymore but Curtis Sliwa. Discontinued my KABC email. So sad without you, so many unfinished stories, so many unheard tunes. Let us know where you are next. Rae C.

Happy Thanksgiving, Doug. I miss listening to you in LA & getting the update on Penny, “the kid”, & the cat! Keep us posted on where you are . . . Hopefully back on an LA station soon!
Until then, hang in there. . . . Things will get better.

Doug, I’m losing brain cells without you on the air out here. Tilden is an amiable airhead. At least give us a podcast. Better still, COME BACK to L.A.!
Comment by Calvin U. on November 27, 2009 at 6:43 am
Doug, It’s been sucky ever since KABC’s mangagement had a brain fart and cut you out of my morning drive life…also my podcasting life! I tried to listen to the replacements and they are totally unacceptable…PT snoozer and especially the three stoo…okay, no name-calling, especially FHF! (like fingernails scratching chalkboard) I try to stay up and hear you on WABC…but 2-3 a.m. is tough. Where’s your podcast? So. Cali radio needs you BACK!!! Wishing you the Best for you and your family (including your new cat). Cheers! C

Hi Doug!
WABC’s gain is KABC’s loss….
Please petition for a “rehirement” hearing on the grounds that Villaragosa and the City Council will combine to destroy LA completely if you aren’t here to protect us!
You made the remark one time that “in radio they hire you to fire you”..
what a shock to me when the clock radio went off one morning at 5 a.m. and yours and Dave’s voices weren’t there to greet me. Some guy named Tilden (probably a former tennis player from the 1930s) was complaining about how early it was and bemoaning the fact that his newspaper had arrived late that morning….dynamite talk show material. Captain Jorge was doing sports instead of the “Sports Princess” who now has an “intermittent” evening program.
Hurry back to your West Coast home here in LA ASAP (unless you find the East Coast a more congenial environment)! I called KABC several times during the past months and they continued to assure me you would be returning to your “Red Eye” radio slot at KABC in the near future. Hope that is the case although I feel the station is truly going down the tubes.
Best of everything to you and your family always. Thank you for your entertaining/informative intellect, talent. The many hours of top notch talk radio you provided really made my day….at age 74 there aren’t many events that do anymore.
I hope Rob Morenko is doing well too wherever he has gone. You two were a great team and maybe will be reunited in the future at KABC (if you would like that) or some local “cable” radio station. That is the only reason I would get serious about purchasing “Sirius”….
Take care!
Claremont Jim
